Software for custom home builders and renovators

Custom building goes wrong in the same place almost every time: selections. The client picks something above allowance, nobody documents it, and eight months later there is an argument about a number neither side wrote down.

Field service and construction. Compare existing field-service platforms against your actual jobs. Scope integrations, follow-up, reporting or a customer portal when a demonstrated handoff remains unresolved.

Sub-niches covered: Custom home building, Major residential renovation, Multiplex and infill development, Design-build contracting, Kitchen and bathroom renovation, Heritage restoration.

You likely have this problem if:

Selections and allowances live in a spreadsheet the client never sees.

The client learns about a draw slipping after the fact.

Change orders are reconciled at close-out.

Clients feel uninformed for the whole build.

An allowance overrun was never acknowledged in writing.

What breaks operationally:

Selections and allowances are tracked in a spreadsheet the client never sees.

Draw schedules slip and the client learns about it after the fact.

Change orders accumulate verbally and are reconciled at the end.

Clients feel uninformed for the entire build, which is where referrals are lost.

What we build:

Client selections portal. Selections made and confirmed against allowances, with the overage visible and acknowledged at the moment of choosing.

Draw schedule visibility. The draw schedule shown to the client with progress against it, so funding conversations happen early.

Change order register. Every change priced and acknowledged as it happens rather than reconciled at close-out.

Client build feed. Photo and milestone updates that keep the client informed without a phone call, which is what produces referrals.

What causes most custom build disputes?

Allowance overruns that were never acknowledged in writing. The client remembers choosing a tile; they do not remember being told it was three thousand dollars over. Capturing the acknowledgement at selection time eliminates most of the argument.

Should clients see the draw schedule?

Yes. Builders worry it invites scrutiny, but the alternative is a client surprised by a funding request, which is worse. Visibility moves the difficult conversation earlier, when it is still solvable.

How much client communication is too much?

Under-communicating is the far more common failure. A weekly photo update with the current milestone takes minutes to produce automatically and is consistently what clients cite when they refer a builder.

Does this work for renovation as well as new build?

Renovation needs it more, because clients are usually living in the disruption and the emotional stakes are higher. The selections and change order mechanics are identical.
